If you’ve spent any time in the web3 space, you’ve probably noticed that we love our catchphrases. But there’s one in particular that seems to have taken over: GM 🌞
Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, you’re bound to see someone in the community greeting their fellow web3 enthusiasts with a cheerful “GM!”
But why has this simple phrase become so ubiquitous in our corner of the internet? We all need a way to connect with each other and establish a sense of camaraderie in a rapidly evolving and often overwhelming space.
By using a shared greeting like GM, we’re reminding each other that we’re all in this together. 🤝
While GM isn’t the only catchphrase in the web3 space, it has become more widespread than other popular phrases like WAGMI, likely due to its simplicity and versatility.
“We’re all gonna make it” is a nice sentiment, but the unfortunate reality is that not everyone will achieve the same level of success in the web3 space. Unlike WAGMI, GM is a friendly greeting that can be used in any context.
⚠️ Undoubtedly, there are limitations in relying too heavily on catchphrases to define a community. By reducing the complexity of our experiences to a single catchphrase, we may overlook important nuances and challenges.
Nevertheless, there is value in using GM to connect and spread positive vibes in the web3 space.
So with that, I’ll say GM to all my fellow web3 enthusiasts out there!
Keep on building and exploring 🔨🔍🌐
